Cognizant Counseling Center, LLC
If you’ve been feeling off lately, like you just don’t have the energy or motivation you used to, you’re not alone. Whether it’s sadness that won’t go away, constant stress, or feeling disconnected from who you used to be, I want you to know that there’s support available.
At Cognizant Counseling Center, I offer therapy to identify depressive patterns in North Charleston, South Carolina, helping you better understand what’s going on beneath the surface so you can begin to feel more like yourself again.
Depression doesn’t always look like lying in bed all day. It might show up as irritability, brain fog, or just going through the motions and feeling numb. Maybe you’ve noticed you’re pulling away from friends and family, or struggling to enjoy things that once brought you happiness. You might be tired of feeling like you should be okay, even when you’re not.
These feelings are more common than you might think. They’re also not permanent. Therapy can help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and gently start to shift the patterns that are keeping you stuck.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor, and Addiction Counselor, and I’ve worked with people from all walks of life who are ready to stop surviving and start living again. My style is supportive, straightforward, and deeply respectful of your story. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll figure things out together.
In therapy, I use a mix of proven approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I’ll always tailor our work to fit your unique needs and pace. You don’t have to come in knowing exactly what’s wrong. That’s part of what we’ll explore together.
Many people I work with tell me they feel stuck, tired, or overwhelmed, but aren’t exactly sure why. Maybe you’re dealing with:
Sometimes, depression is tangled up with anxiety, stress, or past experiences. Together, we can untangle those threads and figure out what your mind and body are trying to tell you.
Our first few sessions will be about building trust and understanding your goals. I’ll ask questions, but I’ll never pressure you to share anything before you’re ready. You set the pace.
In our work, we might look at thought patterns that are keeping you stuck, gently explore past experiences, and try out new coping skills that help you feel more in control. We’ll also talk about what’s going well, because healing isn’t just about what’s hard, it’s about finding your strengths, too.
I offer both in-person sessions here in North Charleston and virtual sessions if that feels more comfortable for you.
The goal isn’t to be happy all the time. The goal is to feel more connected to yourself, to move through life with more ease, and to stop feeling like you’re just trying to get through the day.
Clients often tell me they feel:
Change is possible. It doesn’t always happen overnight, but even small shifts can start to open up space for healing.
