Hypnotherapy in North Charleston, South Carolina

Hypnotherapy in North Charleston, South Carolina

Sometimes you understand why you feel stuck… and sometimes you don’t.

You may notice patterns that repeat in relationships. Anxiety that shows up even when things seem “fine.” Old wounds that still influence how you see yourself. Or habits you’ve tried to break, but can’t quite shift.

If you’re searching for Hypnotherapy in North Charleston, South Carolina, you may be looking for something that goes deeper than surface-level coping tools. Something that helps you access the beliefs, memories, and emotional experiences that quietly shape your life.

I’m Holly Hansen, MS, LPC, LPCS, LAC, and at Cognizant Counseling Center, I approach therapy as a collaborative and individualized process. Hypnotherapy can be thoughtfully integrated into individual counseling to help you explore underlying patterns, increase insight, and create meaningful change.

You are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk beside you as we gently and intentionally explore what’s beneath the surface.

Who This Service Is For

Hypnotherapy may be a good fit if you:

I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, and relationship struggles. Many of the people I see are processing experiences rooted in loneliness or disconnection.

My practice is welcoming and affirming of individuals of all races, ethnicities, sexualities, gender identities, abilities, class backgrounds, and spiritual or religious orientations. I remain committed to ongoing education and culturally responsive care.

What You Might Be Experiencing

You don’t need a diagnosis to know something isn’t working.

You might notice:

Often, these patterns are rooted in deeply held beliefs formed through early relationships and life experiences. Hypnotherapy can help bring awareness to those internal narratives and gently reshape them.

Understanding Hypnotherapy in North Charleston, South Carolina

Hypnotherapy is not about losing control or being “put under.” It’s a focused, collaborative process that allows you to access deeper levels of awareness while remaining present and engaged.

In my practice, hypnotherapy is integrated within a broader therapeutic framework. My work draws from:

Hypnotherapy can complement these approaches by helping you explore underlying beliefs, emotional responses, and relational patterns that may not always be accessible through conversation alone.

For example, if anxiety keeps showing up in your relationships, we may use focused techniques to explore where those responses began. If self-criticism feels automatic, we may gently uncover and rework the internal messages reinforcing it.

This work is always collaborative. You remain in control. We move at a pace that feels safe and respectful.

What Therapy Sessions Are Like

Therapy begins with a 1.5-hour initial intake session. During that time, we clarify your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan. Every session after that is intentional and focused on one or more of those goals.

If we incorporate hypnotherapy, I’ll explain the process clearly beforehand. You’ll know what to expect. We’ll check in frequently. Nothing is rushed.

Sessions are typically scheduled weekly at first. Between sessions, you may be invited to reflect, read, or practice certain tools. Active participation often helps integrate insights into daily life and can reduce the overall length and cost of therapy.

You can expect:

I offer in-person sessions in North Charleston and telehealth across South Carolina.

If you are primarily seeking broader support, you can also learn more about individual counseling, where hypnotherapy may be integrated when clinically appropriate.

How do I know if this is right for me?

If you’re feeling stuck in patterns that talk therapy alone hasn’t fully shifted, hypnotherapy may be worth exploring. We can discuss whether it fits your goals during a free consultation.
